In 2010, John led the charge that saved the Bloedel Conservatory atop Queen Elizabeth Park. The video below expresses the history of the Conservatory, and why its preservation was of particular importance to John.
Without the intervention of a then apolitical John Coupar, who rallied Vancouverites to his cause, make no mistake there would be no Bloedel Conservatory today, a heritage landmark which has long played a vital role in our city as a biodiversity sanctuary, and a community educational centre.
