Alternet.org: Yes, Ralph Nader has a legal right to run for President of the United States. He also has a legal right to donate $100,000 to the Republican Party and become a Bush Pioneer, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Paul Loeb, author of the book “Soul of a Citizen: Living With Conviction in a Cynical Time”, takes Nader to task.
And joining the fray, this damning indictment of Nader, in Mother Jones.

If Al Franken won’t run, then Nader may be the next best thing. Kerry seems to be the half dozen to Bush’s six, they have a lot in common. Both went to Yale, both were Bonesmen, both have huge wealth they did little to earn and both have a giant political party with thousands of special interests they have to keep happy.
Everyone assumes that all votes Nader gets will come at the expense of the democrats. Perhaps there are a few honest republicans out there looking for a place to park their vote until they can run a candidate with a brain and a conscience.
Go Ralph Go.
Sure the man is an egomaniac. And sure he will be a magnet for the Deanie Babies and the various Dem wackos who might otherwise vote for Kerry. But Ralph is living proof that american democracy is alive and flourishing.
I agree, to a degree, with Dotto D. that the differences between Bush and Kerry are an ampole or two of botox. If only those two were running and getting media play the lefties saying that American democracy was simply a shell game would have a point.
But Ralph legitimizes the process. Yep, if does even reasonably he’ll kill Kerry which – right win bastard that I am – is no bad thing. But, in any case he will keep Kerry chasing the moonbats and the Michael Moore groupies. Which, in a perverse way, will keep Kerry honest.
Go Ralph Go.
