The Lone Ranger Of Righteousness
Alternet.org: Yes, Ralph Nader has a legal right to run for President of the United States. He also has a legal right to donate $100,000 to the Republican Party and become a Bush Pioneer, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Paul Loeb, author of the book “Soul of a Citizen: Living With Conviction in a Cynical Time”, takes Nader to task.
And joining the fray, this damning indictment of Nader, in Mother Jones.
Schwarzenegger Wants To Run for President
On Sunday, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger — who was born in Austria and became an American citizen in 1983 — told anyone who would listen that he stands foursquare behind a constitutional amendment that would allow a foreign-born national to run for president.
During an appearance on NBC’s “Meet The Press”, when host Tim Russert asked Schwarzenegger whether he supported U.S. Senator Orrin G. Hatch’s resolution proposing an amendment that would allow a foreign-born person who has been a U.S. citizen for at least 20 years to be a candidate for the Presidency, he replied, “Oh absolutely.”
Just what the world needs, “The Terminator” as President.
Bush Suppresses Report on Global Warming
· Secret report warns of rioting and nuclear war
· Britain will be ‘Siberian’ in less than 20 years
· Threat to the world is greater than terrorism
Mark Townsend and Paul Harris report in today’s Guardian/Observer (reprinted in Z-Mag) on a secret Pentagon report about global warming.
Suppressed by US defence chiefs, the report obtained by The Observer warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a ‘Siberian’ climate by 2020, and nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt a cross the world.
The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability eclipses that of terrorism, say the experts privy to its contents.
