Progressive commercial talk radio is about to arrive on airwaves across the United States, in what one hopes will become a successful attempt by liberals to provide counterbalance to the right-wing wackos who’ve been polluting the U.S. radio dial for oh so many years.
Comedian Janeane Garofalo is set to join Air America’s talent line-up, taking on 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. duties, while environmental activist Robert Kennedy, Jr. will host a weekend slot.
The Blogosphere—a land where the smart get smarter
The connected connect to one another, and the losers go home.

Computer Security: FREE Windows Updates On CD
If you’re purchasing a new computer, you absolutely DO NOT want to put it onto the Net before pre-installing the Windows Critical Updates. Of course, you also want to pre-install an anti-virus programme, like Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan, or AVG Anti-Virus, and a good, workable and protective firewall, along the lines of ZoneAlarm or Sygate.
Still and all, pre-installing the Windows Updates from a CD is the way to go when setting up a new PC in your home, or office.
Microsoft has just announced a customer service programme where they’ll send you — at no charge to you, with no strings attached — a CD containing ALL of the Windows Critical Updates. All you have to do is click on this link, fill out the form, and – voilà – you’ll be off to the races.

A doctoral student at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and a researcher in the field of computer security and commentator on information technology, Simson L. Garfinkel’s most recent column in the MIT Enterprise Technology Review suggests that “The latest anti-piracy move by the Motion Picture Association of America will prevent you from making high-quality copies of broadcast TV programmes … and that their newly developed “broadcast flag” technology will enable all manner of other restrictions”. This future is due to arrive on July 1, 2005, Canada Day.
